Commissioners eye dropping cost-sharing for city SROs
Henderson County commissioners may end the $250 000 annual payment for Hendersonville school resource officers at four city schools. The move could shift costs to the city and add more than 700 000 to county expenses amid tensions over water sewer extensions and growth along the city border. City Manager John Conner says all county students should receive the same protection and notes the city would assume SRO duties if funding ends.
