County OKs turf for high school fields
Henderson County moves to fast track artificial turf at East Henderson West Henderson and North Henderson high schools with a $2.75 million initial appropriation. Commissioners seek bids and engineering studies with final cost projections due by April 19 as part of a plan to complete installations by mid 2018. The county considers turf to boost hours of use from about 1,000 to 1,500 annually amid debate over priorities and funding.
