Mills River Academy Marker Dedication Planned
Henderson County Education History Initiative hosts a Mills River Academy marker event at the Mills River Academy site on Sunday April 7 from 2 to 4 PM. An open house runs 2 to 3 PM with program 3 to 4 PM. marker notes Mills River Academy’s 1797 land grant by James Brittain II and its role in local education and government. Donations for the $750 marker to Henderson County Education Foundation, Mills River Event-HCEHI, are mailed to 2206 Evergreen Drive Hendersonville NC 28792.
