Sierra Nevada expansion moves 80 acres into Mills River district
Sierra Nevada signed to annex an 80 acre parcel west of Ferncliff Industrial Park from Fletcher to Mills River. The land, adjoining Mountain Horticulture Research Station, was bought for 1.15 million dollars from the Shuford family. The change lowers the tax burden slightly, as Fletcher’s fire tax is 10 cents per 100 while Mills River combined rate is 9.74 cents.
