Education in my blood, Henderson County picks new leader
Hardy Caldwell, a Henderson County native and 32 year veteran of the system, is named superintendent effective July 1. He succeeds David Jones, pledging to continue Jones’s roads and foundation while working with county officials on budgeting and capital projects. Caldwell rose from teacher to principal to assistant superintendent, with deep family ties to local education. He lauds the district, its students, and staff as a model North Carolina system.
