Small Business Health Care Act Aims to Expand AHP Access
The act would loosen restrictions to allow small employers including self employed and sole proprietors to join an AHP. It would permit small businesses in same or different industries and those in neighboring states to join. It also shortens North Carolina’s AHP existence requirement from five to two years and could benefit up to 110,000 residents per the CBO.
