Commissioners split on IDA Pardee seats
Henderson County Commissioners split 3 2 over two major appointments. Shannon Clarke edged Mark Warwick for the Tourism Development Authority chair, replacing David Nicholson. Warwick won the vacant TDA seat. Edney, Messer and Thompson backed Clarke while Hawkins and Lapsley backed Warwick. In the Pardee Hospital Board, Albercht and Cooper were chosen 3 2 along faction lines. Albercht fills the remaining term of Walter Carpenter. Amber McCleerey and Donald Cooper were alternates in the two votes. The board also announced multiple reappointments and new appointments across community college, environmental, fire and rescue, heritage museum, historic resources, juvenile crime prevention, library, mountain workforce development, nursing adult home care, and social services boards.
