Judgeship nominees named by Brevard Bar for District Court seat
Nearly 100 attorneys across Henderson, Polk and Transylvania counties nominated five candidates for the District Court vacancy left by Athena Brooks. Henderson County Clerk Kim Gasperson-Justice led with 52 votes, followed by Jason R. Hayes and Charles W. Mack McKeller with 44 each. Robert P. Brackett Jr. had 41 and Ryan A. Bradley 24. The Bar will forward the list to Gov. Roy Cooper for consideration. governor not required to choose from it.
