Laurel Park completes three phase lake restoration park project
The town finished a multi year effort to restore a stream and lake area starting with rerouting the stream away from Lake Drive and through the park with a grant from the North Carolina Clean Water Management Trust Fund. Phase two added an outflow pipe replacement and a fore bay plus a wetlands boardwalk. Phase three uses Parks and Recreation Trust Fund grants for walking trails exercise stations and parking. The project aims to create a pollinator friendly natural park adjacent to Hendersonville country club and other local parks.
