Absher Arrests Question School Board Tenure

Absher faced arrest warrants alleging actions between November 1, 2016 and January 1 of this year. A month later he was arrested on a charge of communicating a threat after an altercation at East Henderson High School. He is set to appear in District Court on September 1 for the two charges. The School Board may request resignation but cannot force a sitting member to quit. if he resigns, a replacement would be appointed.
