Runoff tightens GOP cash in North Carolina race

In the 11th Congressional District runoff Mark Meadows and Vance Patterson depleted their funds while Hayden Rogers surged with 175000 in the second quarter. Meadows raised 494000 and spent 460000 leaving 33718. Patterson 321000 raised and 318000 spent leaving 6342. Rogers reported 192000 in bank after strong donations from Western North Carolina residents.

Little Skinny House To Sell After Restoration

Historic Flat Rock Inc plans to market the 1800s red house known as the little skinny house after investing more than 100000 dollars to restore it. Bought for 120000 dollars in May, the property will gain a new kitchen, furnace and air conditioning while preserving antebellum character. Project leaders Rick Merrill architect Don Wilson and contractor Mike Klepp guided a reporter through plastered interiors and new wiring for the furnace as a side porch is added.
