Henderson County reports May building permits rise across sectors
May saw Henderson County issue 75 residential permits totaling 156 for the year, up 2.6 percent, and six new commercial permits with 25 year to date. Building inspections reached 538 permits in May and 2,346 year to date, 9.8 percent ahead of last year. Total construction value in May was 15.8 million, with through-May totals at 45 million, up 2.3 percent. Total inspections this year reached 7,545, up 15 percent. Over 11 months, year-to-date fiscal totals show 410 residential permits, 40 percent ahead of 2011-12, with commercial up 31 percent and mobile home permits up 30 percent, and total construction value at 95.7 million, up 19.8 percent. remodeling and additions declined 9.8 percent.
