Henderson Moyer tapped for airport board in split vote
Henderson County commissioners split 3-2 to appoint former chair Bill Moyer to the Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority board seat with support from Michael Edney and allies. Opponents backed Henry Johnson, a retired Air Force officer and private pilot, who argued aviation experience should fill the aviation seat. Johnson praised his own airfield knowledge but accepted the result, calling it political.
