Appeals court upholds event barn on N C 191
A North Carolina appeals court upheld a Henderson County decision allowing William and Tamra Crane to rent a 3000 square foot barn on N C 191 across from Rugby Middle School for weddings and other gatherings up to 150 people with events ending by 10 pm. Neighbors led by Elizabeth and Stan Shelley opposed the move citing lighting parking and traffic concerns and potential alcohol and live music. The case began with the Zoning Board of Adjustment in 2015 and progressed through the Superior Court before the Court of Appeals ruled for the Cranes on December 20. Shelley hinted at possible further action even as no appeal is planned.
