County considers Sixth Avenue land sale amid mixed-use hopes
Henderson County Commissioners opened the process for selling a one third acre parcel on Sixth Avenue West across from the Health Sciences Center. Dr. Leon Elliston offered 172000 for the former Sixth Avenue Clubhouse site, with plans uncertain. The building, valued at 170400, is in poor condition and may be replaced by retail medical offices or housing. The board authorized an upset bid notice, leaving open the possibility of PDA or mixed-use development, possibly with student housing on upper floors.
