Henderson County Board may hold four public meetings a month
A rift on the Henderson County Board of Commissioners could push the panel to hold four public meetings monthly. Commissioner Grady Hawkins announced plans to attend agenda sessions held by the chair and vice chair, with county administrators, which have previously occurred behind closed doors. He said if all three are present the meetings must be open to the public and the media would be invited. The 3-2 vote to re-elect Charlie Messer as chairman sparked the move. Hawkins and Larry Young supported Young, the incumbent up for reelection next year.
