MPO OKs grants for three Henderson greenway studies

The French Broad River MPO approved grants for three greenway studies in Henderson County adding them to the 2017 18 work plan. Grants include 50000 for Okawah a extension from Berkeley Mills Park to Westfeldt Park 70000 for an Oklawaha segment from Jackson Park to Blue Ridge Community College and 40000 for a bike pedestrian path from Carl Sandburg Home to Flat Rock Park. The studies assess potential alignments for a 45 mile countywide greenway network with local contracts pending.

Zoning Board to rule on event barn permit on Bradley Road

The Zoning Board of Adjustment plans to ratify an order allowing an event barn on Bradley Road at NC 191 to proceed despite neighbor objections. On July 26 the board denied neighbor Stan Shelley’s bid to revoke the Cranes special use permit issued in October 2015.
