Mounta in Fountain pricetag shocks Hendersonville council
The Main Street mountain fountain costs $183,284.59, about $100,000 over the original estimate due to an unforeseen underground pump system. Part of a $1.4 million downtown makeover in the 500 and 600 blocks, the fountain marks the city’s first public art commission. The project began as part of the July 2012 streetscape plan and followed extensive infrastructure upgrades.
