Local crews to repave 3 percent miles of city streets
Crews will repave about 3 percent of city streets this year under the road improvement program funded by state Powell Bill money and a 1 cent local property tax levy. Tarheel Paving won the $543,349 bid, beating Southeastern Asphalt and JLS Paving. Work includes milling, new asphalt, lines, crosswalks, and school markings on streets from Ninth Avenue to U.S. 64 and between Fleming Street and Hendersonville schools.
