Saluda Grade Trails Conservancy wins contract to buy 31 mile rail line

The Saluda Grade Trails Conservancy and Norfolk Southern signed a one year contract to purchase the 31 mile Saluda Grade rail corridor from Upstate South Carolina to Western North Carolina. The coalition Conserving Carolina PAL and Upstate Forever will develop a rail trail through Inman Campobello Landrum Tryon Saluda and Zirconia open to walking running biking and birding. Leaders praise partners and emphasize benefits to local communities health and economy. Norfork Southern expresses commitment to community thriving through the project.

Volunteers spruce up Henderson County schools for Day of Action

More than 200 local volunteers contributed 600 hours on August 1 to improve Henderson County Public Schools ahead of the new year. United Way's Day of Action brought teams from businesses and organizations to mulch and enhance outdoor spaces.
