Henderson County deputies shot Kay Frances Campbell, 60, at 422 East Blue Ridge Road after a caregiver reported she threatened self harm and, at times, choking the caregiver. The SBI will investigate. no deputies injured as they awaited involuntary commitment papers.

Victim advocates honor Matthew Orr in WNC ceremony
