Housing starts run strong in 2015 in Henderson County
Tar Heel Construction Inc. owner Todd Pearce says the current housing market shows steady gains in 2015 with new residential starts more than doubling in Q1. Permits for 92 new homes in March and 140 year to date mark a rise from 60 in early 2014. Commercial projects also double, while residential additions dip. Overall construction value climbs 13.8 percent to 29.6 million in Q1, with nine month fiscal gains. Pearce notes improved housing economies and builder confidence amid steadier activity.
