Shelby Sept 22. Frank Z Sevills ex town treasurer of Sweet Grass was found guilty tonight by a district court of the murder of A J Hedrix editor of the Sweet Grass newspaper. Jury recommended life imprisonment. Sevills testified he acted in self defense claiming Hedrix threatened him with a plug bar from a typesetting machine. He went to Hedrix to discuss a leaking radiator case and Hedrix ordered him out, then Hedrix advanced toward him. Sevills said he did not know what happened next and that he must have shot him. Sentence to be pronounced Monday morning.
Four men questioned by Bellingham police after being described as suspects in the Colfax bank robbery the day before. Officers say the hold up at the First Trust and Savings Bank in Colfax eastern Washington netted more than 10000 dollars. Identified suspects include Morimer Doyle 40 Jack Doyle 41 both of San Pedro California. Robert Roberta 38 and Jack Brady 34 both of Seattle Washington.
