Lewistown Sept 0 Senator Dixon a Republican candidate for governor and other Republicans seek office will face a set of hard questions at a league meeting. Local party leaders say the event will focus on state issues and candidate plans as the campaign intensifies.
Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Th K Wheeler criticized Republican endorsements as pliant to the Nonpartisan League during a Lewis town gathering with state candidate allies. He alleged Dixon Shelley Rankin supported league aims, urged clear answers on allegiance, and predicted Democratic wins in Montana based on primary results.
Geraldine on Sept 20 reported a death by suicide in the barn of his sister Mrs Hans Engerlant. Joachimo, 28, a cannery worker born in Germany, had shown dementia signs before the act. He hung himself with a rope from a barn rafter after returning from threshing. The sister’s child found the body. Dr Jen Brook and Deputy Domnatull assisted. Coroner Wilford from Benton investigated. Lewistown Sept. 31 A. C. Townley outlined an intensive campaign plan for the Nonpartisan League with Fergus county farmers and Democratic candidates, aiming to recruit members and schedule speeches in Lewistown and other towns. Close to 10 people attended.
Great Falls vendors report falling demand for Cascade county moonshine as cheaper Canadian whisky floods the market. Moonshine prices range from 4 to 22 per quart with imports easing burden on bootleggers, while local stills see idle copper kettles and dwindling sales amid alleged free trade pressures.
Great Falls Sept 20 Petition of Attorney General C Pord for injunction to stop Cascade Silver Mines and Mills from dumping railings into Belt Creek failed in Great Falls district court. The company was awarded costs and the attorney general dismissed. Pollution of Rest creek water was alleged. Sheriffs cited in federal court to explain why they permitted prisoners to work outside jails.

In Great Falls on Sept 22 Nation Jordan, a colored collector, allegedly robbed Gus Finger after claiming a loan of 150 dollars. Jordan was arrested and a gun found in a stove will serve as Exhibit A. He allegedly threatened Finger with violence and demanded more money including interest.
Mellwain was arrested by Sheriff Laswell on a Havre complaint of statutory rape. He is jailed in Blaine County with $4,000 bond, awaiting Sept 25 hearing before Justice Griffin. A Havre warrant cites abduction. the 15 year old Havre girl was found at the Chinook hotel.
Great Falls housewives protested the price of milk, presenting a request to Mrs. L. A. Jenkin, chairwoman of the Castade League of Women Voters, for an investigation. The league will decide at Tuesday's meeting if it will pursue an inquiry under its committee on food distribution and supply. If looked into, the probe will assess whether a $58,000 yearly increase in milk revenue is justified and if it covers higher dairy costs. Fire reports Describe separate outbreaks: at Pablo lumber yard and at the Broadway theater in Butte, damaging property but causing little theater loss.

Anderson, a Non-partisan League booster from Fergus County, was found guilty in federal court of sending libelous and improper material through the U S mails. His lawyer moved for a new trial and Judge Bourquin took the matter under advisement with judgment stayed pending that decision.
Fire broke out on stage after a Broadway performance at the Butte Theatre. An asbestos curtain limited flames to the orchestra pit, destroying two pantomime sets and side curtains. Damages, including piano losses, total about $4,000 with insurance covering the toss. Key staff witnessed the blaze as fire units arrived. the scheduled act was destroyed and the set for the evening was lost.

Vancouver Washington September 20 Coroner W J Knapp reports the overseas war veteran Tacob Malencamp ended his life Saturday night following an auto accident in which farmer John Mobrey 40 near Brush Prairie was injured by Malencamps vehicle.
