A Montana staffed state priorities office will open October 15 in the Helena Federal Reserve Bank building led by J. E. O'Connell. The unit will advise Montana industries on defense priorities, explain demand status, assist with applications, monitor compliance, and investigate violations. The analyst's name and staff will be announced later.
Helena Mayor Jock Heytin said paving of the mile long east west runway may finish tonight. If completed, a sealing coat will be applied in a few days and day flights could resume by October first. Lighting installation hinges on obtaining a usable light cable.
Cameron Beck of New York City addressed Kiwanis at Billings during the Montana Kiwanis district convention opening. Billings won the four man golf event with 326, Sid Stewart tied for second with 78, Jensen posted 77 gross while Stewart claimed 71 net.
