New York mayor Joseph V. McKee filed a taxpayers suit to block a November election and keep his post for six months. The action, brought at McKee’s urging by Harold Medina, aims to restrain the board of elections from scheduling a special mayoralty election. The case, opposed by Tammany forces, could go to the court of appeals if needed.
