New York November 2 AP Dr John FR Steelman head of the U S Conciliation Service announced that a threatened strike of 15000 long line telephone workers in 42 states had been averted. An agreement provided for 3000000 annually in wage increases and two boards led by Aaron Horvitz to study wage adjustments and geographic differentials. The dispute involved American Telephone and Telegraph and the Federation of Long Lines Telephone Workers. Company reps included Frank P Lawrence George Dring and S Whitney Landon.
