American troops in France plan a 5 3 oclock Sunday march toward Germany, about 12 miles per unit, in column formation. The first big unit of the allied occupation forces will lead, with careful echeloning and advance guards. Engineers will repair roads, rebuild bridges, and inspect every object for hazards and possible poison.
The distinguished service medal was conferred upon General Pershing at his headquarters today. General Tasker H. Bliss, representing President Wilson, witnessed the ceremony attended by Allied missions. Admiral Benson represented the navy and was present with other officials.
Maria Theresa of Bavaria dies in Amsterdam after a Bavarian diet deposed the Wittelsbach dynasty and forced her husband King Ludwig II to abdicate. Born 1842, she became queen consort of Bavaria on February 20, 1863, and her widowhood ensued with survivors in Switzerland.
Samuel Gompers, president of the American Federation of Labor, warned at the pan American labor conference in Laredo that general wage cuts or longer hours will not be accepted after the war without a fight. He criticized William H Barr and the National Founders' association and said workers will resist being driven back by Barr or others. The Pan American Federation of Labor was formed with Gompers as its chairman as the meeting adjourned.
Copenhagen reports that many ships demanded under the armistice terms were sunk by their German crews amid the revolution. German authorities note that merchant vessels of the allied and associated powers were to be restored in specified ports under Clause 3 of the armistice. Continued on Pages, Column 3.
London reports a meeting of German naval delegates with British naval representatives Friday afternoon off Rosyth. The session aimed at surrender procedures and continued on page three in column one.
In Baltimore on November 16, Ambassador Jules J. Jusserand presented Cardinal Gibbons with the Legion of Honor at the cathedral doorway, in the presence of the cardinals household and the seminary faculty, according to a ceremony in the city.

Paris November 16 Marshal Foch commander in chief sends a message to officers noncommissioned officers and soldiers of the allied armies praising their endurance after months of battle. He says they have won the greatest battle in history and the sacred cause the liberty of the world and urges pride and eternal glory for their flags. Posterity will recognize their achievement.

Campaign HQ at National Bank of Montana basement plans Monday hours to give every patriotic citizen a chance to join the honor roll and raise subscriptions as final counts loom tomorrow night. Washington November 16 Secretary Baker thanked officers and men of the army for their zeal in preparing for overseas duty. He expressed confidence that discipline and bearing would be maintained by the troops during training until demobilization.
Amsterdam reports the Taichi Volunteer Landsturm, men who offered service in 1914 but were not obliged to serve, now faced costs. From London comes word of rioting by grave syndicalists in Copenhagen on Thursday, with Telegraph despatch noting unrest continuing.

Tokio reports that Foreign Minister Uchida and Yokio Mayor Tajiri sent congratulatory messages to allied leaders on the victory. Uchida said peace conference issues would be settled, but restructuring of the world would be complex and require long consideration. He urged Japan to learn from Germany’s decline and align national policy with the new world order.
Polish officers from Warsi hive aim to occupy the capital of German Polish Posen, basing plans on a Berliner Tageblatt report. Posen, a fortified western Polish province along the Warthe River, borders Grandenburg and Russian Poland, with agriculture and German settlers shaping its demography. about three-fifths are Polish, the rest German.
