Packers refused high bids, commission men wouldn’t accept bids, 78 000 hogs were added to consignments, the Federal Surplus Relief Corporation moved 4 000 head from Monday to Saturday purchases.
Bozeman Nov 14 A wife, 41, died today from burns suffered Saturday when he was sprayed with flaming liquid from an exploding can of tractor fuel The fire destroyed his house and most property except a car and $150 in cash His wife Ava V L Harvey of Helena left the scene while he went hunting Surviving relatives include a son a months old and a sister Mrs Q Langen of Sunburst

Glasgow November 14 Surveys for a temporary 69 000 volt power line to Fort Peck dam and a telephone line to the dam began today. The line will run south 12 miles from Whately east of Glasgow and will be used until a permanent plant from Montana Power Company’s Rainbow dam near Great Falls is built. Survey for the Great Northern branch road from Wiota to the dam also started, with dirt moving Friday.
Missoula Nov 14 More than six searchers with an air plane pilot and observer searched Fish creek country northwest of Missoula to locate Robert Mark Ness former Missoula county sheriff after he reportedly disappeared during a deer hunting trip Sunday morning.
Edward W Hurley, prominent manufacturer and financier, dies at a Chicago hospital after illness. He first gained national notice as a Federal Trade Commission member in 1912 and later chaired the commission, was recalled by President Wilson to head the shinning board, signaling U S efforts in wartime mobilization.
Montana Governor Frank H. Cooney led a delegation to Washington to attend a civil works conference. They visited the treasury and procured five hundred silver dollars minted in 1881 to spend on purchases. some officials reportedly refused them as curios.
