City of Camaguey reports immense ruin from a hurricane. Death toll varied from 1000 to 1700 with fears it may reach 2000. Santa Cruz del Sur largely wiped out. refugees move toward Havana seeking aid as rebuilding begins slowly.
In Springfield on November 12 an Italian woman, Mrs. Pasqualine Miranda, was shot to death in her parked car on Worthington Street. Her husband, Michael Flore, nearby, was wounded as two men in a passing vehicle fired into the car. The incident mirrors a killing of Miranda’s first husband ten years earlier.
Gov Roosevelt shows improvement from a cold but remains in bed to rest at the executive mansion in Albany. The headless body of a man was found on the Rock River bank near Erle todsy by Bert Dempster, a Hunter. Sheriff Whitney reported the body may have lain there four months or more with no wounds or marks of violence and no identifying details could be found.
Hartford City Indiana November 13. Police said a brutal double murder and robbery occurred at the Moore home. A missing automobile and a double-barreled rifle were taken. Mr A C Moore aged 67 and his wife were found slain in their dwelling this morning.

Mrs John Quaranton a newlywed merchant wife was seized at her friends home in Los Angeles by four men and a woman as they left. An automobile stopped the couple. One man restrained the husband while another dragged the bride into the car. She screamed fought and was quieted after being struck or drugged. The kidnappers fled, the husband says he knows a reason for the act.
