Young Great Falls Hunter Shot Murder Suspected
Hevert Walden aged 46 was found shot to death in his car a few miles from his Great Falls farm after a hunting trip. A Great Falls High School student left with a .410 shotgun and a small caliber rifle. authorities suspect murder and believe the youth may have killed Walden and moved the body into the car. A pheasant was found in the back seat and the shotgun was missing. Police theorize the youth stopped to confront trespassers over land rented by Walden’s son and an argument led to the fatal shooting. Blood evidence on the car suggests Walden entered the left side and died after a rapid wound.
