An amazing invention by Dictograph Products Corp promises to restore hearing for those with active auditory nerves by letting them hear faint sounds clearly. They offer a ten day free trial with no deposit, prepaid and at their own risk, inviting readers to send name and address to the New York City address.
Police tracked a dirty side curtain vehicle seen near the boy’s route before his disappearance. A threatening letter to Teo Franks and a second note from the supposed killer raised the mystery as detectives pursue a figure linked to the Franks family. Investigators questioned teachers and searched outside the city while clues pointed to a possible female involvement and a ransom motive.
Cleveland May 24 engineers from American Telephone and Telegraph and Wesford Electric announce a new device to transmit photographs by telephone over long distances. The Swedish government considers defensive measures amid heightened import competition as the country studies boosting duties on gasoline and alcohol. Border trade has surged since 1905, with last year’s gasoline imports around 6,000 tons valued at about 3.88 million dollars. A duty rise to 10 percent and a domestic tax of 6 cents a gallon on pure alcohol are proposed to spur domestic production and reduce Ford-car reliance on American gasoline.
Mrs. W B Bilmundson testified at a Muscle Shoals agriculture hearing that Senator Norris promised to back the Ford bid in exchange for favors, then failed to keep the pledge. Norris questioned whether the claim was deliberate and the session paused during the exchange.
