Washington May 9 A Morgenthau led meeting with senate silverites disclosed split on language of proposed silver legislation. Borah the lone Republican withdrew declaring the Morgenthau draft entirely permissive while Democrats pursued a two point program to nationalize domestic plating and build a 25 percent silver reserve. Talks continue with Morgenthau taking drafts for study and plans to report tomorrow.
A Washington dispatch reports the Darrow board majority recommends a drastic NRA reorganization to grant the federal government equal voting power with big and small business. The plan seeks to strip current code authorities for a new setup with balanced representation among federal, large business, and industry groups.
At least six people were injured when the North Coast Limited of the Northern Pacific railway left the track near New York Mills Minnesota. Passengers received first aid and resumed their trip toward the Twin Cities. One reported injured was Ruth Danielson of Billings Montana.

Police regain control after an hour as firemen rinse the scene. Sgt C D Murrell stabbed in back. About 8,000 men voted last night to strike today if relief project hours are not raised.

The list of presumed lost includes Count Ernest de Neuville and M Guichard and M Francsard of Geneva. The crew were French pilot Cannett radio operator Oller and English steward Hudson.
AP reports floods droughts and heat across six nations causing deaths in Canada and Norway. In Canada floods wreck bridges and homes near Fort Arthur Ontario and flooding in northern Alberta with Athabasca and Peace rivers spilling over. In Norway a train wreck near Fetsund injures nine as high water drives residents from Reoros and surrounding farms along the Glommen and Hitter rivers.
Washington May 9 Air mail to begin May 16 on the Great Falls Salt Lake City route. A flight leaves Salt Lake City at 6 30 am arrives Great Falls 10 40 pm. The return trip departs Great Falls 5 30 pm arriving Salt Lake City 10 40 pm.
A brief tremor rattled Long Beach and San Pedro at 4 46 p m causing no damage. Residents felt a short sharp quake centered near the harbor and meteorological stations reported no further effects.
A one million dollar gift totaling 1 003 030 88 was presented to President Roosevelt and given to the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation to aid infantile paralysis.
