Yarakinvais, N C May 1 Py Mose Aryant, a 78 year old farmer, and his large German Shepherd dog were buried side by side. After the dog nearly died from grief a year earlier when the farmer's wife died, Aryant planned that upon his death the dog would be buried with him to spare the animal further sorrow.

A 17 month old, Glen B. Mehring, disappeared from a ranch home near Divide Creek. Searchers found no body in muddy Divide Creek near Feeley as a 60 person effort led by sheriff’s officers continued.
The 100 mile Gilmore and Pittsburgh railroad between Armistead and Salmon Idaho will operate its final train today. President W N Mehler said operations cease at midnight Sunday. a freight run Tuesday was made to handle existing shipments. The final passenger train left Armistead Saturday afternoon and reached Salmon that night. the final freight will depart Salmon for Armistead at 7 am tomorrow. Officials face temporary injunctions as abandonment plans proceed. Interstate Commerce Commission hearings set for May 31 at Salmon.

Mary Artela Ailman, once Wallace Beery’s wife, was granted a Reno divorce after a brief trial alleging mental cruelty. The couple, married nearly 15 years, had a short testimony session this morning and plan a summer rest at Lake Tahoe after the dissolution.
Washington May 1. Army orders unified Caribbean command to guard the Atlantis approach to the Panama Canal. Brig Gen Edmund L Daley to command from Bao Juan Puerto Rico with headquarters there. Roosevelt seeks 185 440 000 for air corps expansion and 21 982 500 to increase the garrison at the canal. Also authorized contracts totaling 964 560 000 for the air corps program, with 250 000 000 devoted to that effort.
