In Butte and Silver Bow County supporters push Irish relief drives with several large gifts including 1000 from C F Britey and 300 from W D Thompson lifting local totals toward 15000. Anaconda exceeds 5000 and organizers expect further gains before the drive ends. Indictments in Wytheville accuse white men in a jail break and murder plot tied to a racial killing.
Rev John Tale claims former Senator Willett of Montana has leprosy and will be cured in six weeks through prayer in South Africa. He predicts the patient’s recovery after laying on of hands and continued prayer, with quarantine urged until healing is complete.
State briefs report a first degree murder verdict to be returned by a jury for Jon Vnekovien in the February shooting of Mrs. Jerry Shen in Missouta. Judge Lentz will sentence the defendant next Thursday. Spokane coverage notes upcoming highway association meeting set for April 9 and estimates a $20,000 annual expansion. Hall, the board’s longest serving member, was a “Missoula member” representing the local education institution, and Governor Dixon had just begun reshaping the board.
