Thousands of Legionnaires and Auxiliary members filled Helena for the 20th annual convention. The hall roared with Over There tunes and firecrackers as drum corps from Roundup, Butte, Great Falls, Bozeman, Livingston, Billings, and others performed. Traffic snarls on Main Street marked the event while registration counted 581 with only about half actually registered.

South Fork Colo June 23 Five children and three women were rescued uninjured when an automobile plunged into the Wolf Creek pass section of the Rio Grande. Rescuer W R Wharton, Alamosa truck driver, stripped and swam to the wreck pulling each person to safety by a line. Townsend June 23 A mountain northeast cloudburst caused a flood that destroyed outbuildings on Roy Wheeler and C E Brokaw ranches.
