A Flathead county potato crop is valued at about one million dollars for 1920. H N Lanis of Northwest Potato Exchange says 6000 acres were planted and with current yields and prices farmers expect at least a million dollars. Louis explains potato growers seek chamber of commerce help to secure funds for immediate storage warehouses for the 1920 crop.
Conrad, vice president of Irving National Bank, told the National Electrical Credit Association convention that industrial problems will not be solved until labor’s demands for better wages and working conditions are fully considered. He urged fair pay for honest work and cited the need for a just day’s wage for a day’s work.
Harold Johnson, near the big irrigation ditch, fell in as he wandered close to the brink. Workers nearby heard cries and pulled him from the swift canal current. The ditch was Sauk Sul running at the time and immediate aid prevented drowning.
Twenty new members joined the county farm bureau at the picnic the third in a summer series held yesterday at Patchett's Grove.
