An Anaconda report states Woodrow Meehan a two year old Deer Lodge valley sheep herder was found dead from a gunshot on a hillside near the Champion mine in the northeast corner of Deer Lodge county. His mother Mrs Gambel reported the discovery. A rifle lay nearby and the hat and coat were torn. Deputy Vahton and Coroner Ivosa of Powell county, Undersheriff Joe Schulte and Coroner Arthur Longfellow of Deer Lodge began the investigation. The body was taken to Deer Lodge for examination.
