In Dillon on the Oregon Short Line depot lawn hundreds gathered for a Flag Day rite by the Dillon Elks lodge. Dr. Robert E Albricht of Normal College spoke on the flag and what it means to Americans County Attorney Thomas E Gilbert gave a flag history with banners from Dillon Boy Scout troops. Exalted Ruler Francis Gelhaus led the ritual as other officers conducted the ceremony. The Elks quartet performed with Dave Hier, Dr. F H Himrose, Dale Metlen and H. D Jewett, and Mrs. A. I Gash provided piano numbers. Streets were decorated with flags to mark the anniversary.
Mary Sweeney of Nichola led 37 eighth grade rural pupils in Beaverhead county as the top finisher in the state examinations. The list of next highest includes Joe Mansfield Grant Dorothy Waldemar and others from Wisdom Bannack Birch Creek and Riverside. Seventh grade pupils in hygiene and geography also named top performers with Norma Paddock of Wise River first in hygiene. DILLON NOTES report returns from travels and local club events.
Mrs Wilma Lund attended the funeral for Hilms Mane Lund of 206 Lincoln Street. Rev A C Caton officiated at the services held yesterday, with burial in Mountain View cemetery. Lund described as a well known Bute matron. A recent English church repeal backed funds for the Council of Empire Settlement aiding about 000 persons in the dominions.
Dillon reports Mrs Busan McBride a former Dillon resident died recently in Portland Oregon She lived in Dillon about five years with the late Mr and Mrs Martin Barrett She was 75 a Shelbyville Missouri native who came to Dillon 25 years ago Survived by a son and daughter two brothers and three sisters a brother Frank P Bell and a niece Mrs Harry Banks of Dillon also named among survivors Two men freed in vagrancy case Wilber Fortune and Marko Tomich released after appearance before Police Judge L A Buckley yesterday Tomich arrested on East Galena Street Fortune on Main and Mercury streets by city officers

The Riley funeral is at 10 tomorrow at the family residence with a 9:50 solemn high mass at Sacred Heart church and burial at St Patrick's Cemetery. Daniel F. Broughton funeral is Saturday at 9 from 1401 West Gold street with requiem at Immaculate Conception and interment at Holy Cross cemetery. William Zieglar’s funeral time and place to be announced.
