Munich June 6. A fire at the Crystal Palace exhibition destroyed three thousand historic and contemporary works, including five Rodin sculptures. The loss is estimated around 6 million dollars. Only about 100 paintings were saved, many of them rejected canvases. The origin of the fire remains undetermined as the palace lay in ruins.
George Trickey, 18, formerly of Missoula, taken into custody by Sweet Grass county officers in Bozeman and held pending inquiry into the death of Mrs. Fugere Green. Mrs. Green reportedly shot herself accidentally a week earlier at the Bruffey ranch near Big Timber where she had worked.

A major group of the nation s air forces swept through Montana on their way home after maneuvers in the east. The 95th pursuit squadron and 120th transport squadron traveled from Minot North Dakota to Great Falls stopping at Glasgow and Mayre arriving at Great Falls before continuing toward Spokane. The second group including the 58th and 87th pursuit squadrons also joined later in Billings and Butte for a joint flight west.
San Diego police joined a search tonight for Marjorie M Barrille 24 a Mercy Hospital student nurse missing eight days after leaving a note saying she would write to her parents Mr and Mrs Edwards Bar Ne of Headquarters Idaho Her sister Alaska Barrille who lives in San Francisco wrote asking why letters were unanswered Clothing and personal items were found in her room including a slat her clothes and other possessions were left behind
Three men set dynamite charges at a Kentucky National Guard encampment at Yancey. Guardsmen were detained, but no one was injured. Police reported the incident as a dynamite scare with no blast occurring. Local authorities investigated the attempted attack and detained suspects later today.

Norfolk Va June 6 AP explosion of disdraining apparatus in the apartment of Lieut W T Smith 44 assistant to the outside superintendent at the Norfolk navy yard this afternoon resulted in his death and that of O E Whitden civilian employe at the navy yard Police said there was evidence that a copper tank placed on the Ras stove had blown up with terrific force The explosion and firm which followed did considerable damage to the apartment with officers reporting a quantity of what appeared to be mash and beer and jugs and bottles many details remain unclear
Rochester N Y June 6 a series of slight earth tremors were felt across the city starting at 7 pm with two more shocks at about 9:30. No damage was reported though many residents reported houses shaking and windows rattling.
