Purgell Approves Plans of Montana Highway Commission
Meeting yesterday with the Montana state highway commission C H Purcell chief of United States Bureau of Public Roads for the district including Montana voiced approval of the commission's plan to cooperate with counties on federal aid projects. Thirty four of 38 counties have accepted the cooperative proposal. The federal bureau will approve the plan for participation by Great Falls Cascade County and the government, except for three blocks in the city containing too many houses. The highway would end at 29th street instead of 26th. Due to lack of state funds federal road work in Montana will be limited for the next two years but engineering will be considered for projects that fit into the state system.
