Harlem July 17 A single charge of dynamite blown on the face of a rock wall at Snake Butte quarry eleven miles south of Harlem killed an eleven year old boy and injured eighteen others. Sonny Confer son of O M Confer the quarry superintendent was among the injured. Several workers suffered cuts and bruises from flying rock as the explosion collapsed new rock faces and rails nearby were twisted. The accident site drew photographers and witnesses as crews fought to secure the area and rescue the injured.
