The hot outlaws who held up the Bynum State Bank at Bynum Tuesday afternoon and secured $1500 in currency were captured by a farmer posse this morning 20 miles north of the town. Continued on Page Two.
New York July 14 police announced indictments against janitor Valvorsen Lee for the murder of two Brooklyn women whose severed body parts were found in handles sewers and ashcans. Eve lyn De Marti, 18, once believed missing as a third victim, appeared at police headquarters amid reunions with her family. She refused to disclose her whereabouts.
Ossining New York July WPA convict Will am Wagner was executed in Sing Sing electric chair after refusing to reveal identity. He killed Peter Basto at a Brooklyn roaming house. Clyde Reese Bachelor died by electrocution for murdering his father-in-law Judge Lamar Smith at Nic home in Wetumpkea on August 30 last year.
Installment buying dominates local auto purchases in Helena with 158 deferred payment contracts filed in County Clerk Duncan's office this spring. By June the number of cars bought on the plan reached 158, totaling $122,190.02, with title remaining with the vendor and payments to follow.
The Navy will assume administration of all naval oil reserves and associated lands after August 1. Secretary Work plans to seek Congress approval to transfer jurisdiction of three producing leases in California, currently held by the Interior Department, to Navy oversight. The policy emphasizes conservation and keeping oil in the ground as long as possible.
Benton July 14 AP State's Attorney Roy C. Martin opened against Charles Birger and accomplices in the Adams murder case. He said Birger threatened Mayor Adams and that he will prove the killers. The jury was mainly miners and farmers in the Weat City district.
In Butte a Portola couple F B Chatman 23 and his 22 year old wife admitted planning their deaths by self harm using whiskey anti pain tablets razor blades and a package of razor blades. They traveled from Spokane to Butte seeking a room at a cheap hotel and were found unable to complete their plan after moaning for help. Both are recovering in hospital with hospital staff reporting they will survive. Chatman said he was born in Blue Earth Minnesota and his wife is from Utah.
Washington July 14 AP a high official said complete prohibition cannot be achieved for years and the drive will be slow he warned that enforcement will require persistent effort as administrators gathered for a conference Assistant Secretary Lowman in charge of enforcement disclosed his views for the first time but declined to estimate how long the battle would last
Rapid City dispatch reports President Coolidge weighing a trip to Yellowstone National Park as part of a broader summer White House plan. If he travels north from the Black Hills it would be his only excursion outside the region. Officials note the park would be set aside for the presidential party for five or six days to tour the scenery, fish, and ride horses, with timing still undecided.
Great Falls July 14 a severe storm dumped 1.34 inches between 4 and 5 pm flooding streets and basements. The downpour bent the finest winter wheat stands in depressions across the city and Fite area, threatening harvests. Farmers estimate heavy losses with high costs to harvest and possible maturity failures.
St Paul Minn July 14 R W Clark named general traffic manager of the Northern Pacific Railway in a newly created post. The appointment by J A Woodworth becomes effective Saturday July 16 and places Clark in charge of freight and passenger business. Clark a veteran railroad executive born October 4 1880 in Poomkey Michigan has served NP since 1902 and held senior posts including president’s secretary.
The tripartite naval conference in Geneva adjourned after plenary talks by the United States Great Britain and Japan on the cruiser problem. Admiral Jellicoe Bridgeman US representative Gibson and Viscount Tshii outlined their positions. There were no private plenipotentiary meetings arranged and the general mood was that unless progress is made within the week the conference may terminate with failure.
A town meeting at Whitehall drew over WM citizens, including 70 outsiders, to discuss a new route. Organizers Morrison Cave Novelcomes and Co elation led the session, but the crowd debated good roads and whether Jefferson Canyon should be favored amid ongoing differences.
John Drew's ashes were laid to rest in Mount Vernon cemetery with only three relatives present. Mrs Louisa Devereaux, her husband, and Ethel Barrymore attended the simple ceremony as a black limousine arrived at the gates. The urn was handed to an attendant, and the mourners departed unrecognized by onlookers.

Countess Markievicz a longtime figure in Irish republicanism died early Friday in Dublin after two recent operations. Born Georgina Gore Booth, she married Count Casimir Dunn de Markievicz in 1900 and joined the Irish cause before the 1916 uprising, facing a death sentence later commuted to life imprisonment before release in 1917. She later aligned with Eamon De Valera.

The July wheat outlook from the Department of Agriculture says demand remains strong and export sales robust as large world surpluses persist. US carryover around 85 million bushels plus similar stocks abroad push total exportable supply higher by about 60 million bushels versus last year, while domestic winter wheat is 50 million bushels down and spring wheat up by about 70 billion.
