Warrington July 11 AP The Department of Agriculture forecast 9 274 425 000 bushels of corn for the year the smallest crop in 26 years. Production falls about 500 million bushels below recent averages. Prospects are not promising with crops generally weak though some crops may be average or large in other categories. Area sown is down about seven million acres from last year with shifts in crop acreage notably -6 million acres in corn and +2 million in wheat. Prices and planting conditions also cited as factors in the outlook.
