Cleveland judge jury finds dosith Kirby former president of the defunct Cleveland Discount Company guilty on all 14 counts of using the mails to defraud. It marks his first conviction after six prior trials in this case.
Baltimore reports a two billion dollar authorized Ward Food Products charter filed with the state tax commission. William B. Ward, chairman, named president. The merger, described as a merger with a soul, directs profits after preferred stock and dividends to welfare of American children before common stock dividends.

New York January 20 The Herald Tribune reports Edward L Doheny president of the Pan American Western Petroleum company has left New York for the western oil field after three days of talks with bankers and oil men. A far reaching consolidation is planned involving major firms including the Western Petroleum company General Petroleum and California Petroleum.
Philadelphia miners and operators adjourned until Tuesday as negotiations remain deadlocked. Both latest plans from the miners and operators were voted down, with the Bellevue-Stratford hotel scene yielding no hopeful signs. The conference holds over 500 proposals but sees none ready as a basis for negotiation, and no program exists until the conferees resume at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Montana Odd Fellows announce reconstruction of their Helena valley home on the present site. The new building will be larger than the one destroyed by fire last week.
