Contractors Boost Building To Aid Prosperity In San Francisco

In San Francisco on January 26 delegates at the 12th annual meeting of the Associated General Contractors of America discussed a plan to counteract business decline by stimulating building and construction. Anton K. Horst of Philadelphia, president, outlined a program focusing on sound appraisals financing design materials and rapid but prudent construction. Paul Shoup of the Southern Pacific urged continued railroad driven construction to lift trade as in 1921.

Bomb plot trial opens for Wise and Ogie in Frisco

A San Francisco jury of seven women and five men is chosen to try Mory A. Wise, former Spokane fireman, and Thomas Ogie, a San Francisco bookkeeper, accused of plotting to bomb the Cowles Publishing Company in Spokane in November. The scheme allegedly involved sending a trunk with an infernal machine to the Associated Press office in the Cowles building, which failed to explode. Boyle, who surrendered after Tise was arrested, says he was hired to pull the trigger from Seattle.

City Council Debates Automatic Traffic Signals Plan
