A acetylene gas explosion at the L D J Ward Chapel and Amusement Hall in Idaho killed six people and seriously injured about a dozen as a basketball game between utter and Central teams drew 200 to 300 spectators. Henry Trunt was found guilty of first degree murder by a jury in Sweet Grass County Montana Big Timber. The jury did not recommend a sentence. Judge H. Z. Coffey admitted to authorities he killed his wife with a baseball bat during a quarrel in a Wisconsin tent, dismembered the body with a butcher knife, and buried it in woods five miles south of Platteville Wisconsin.
