The Mowe Joa Power announces a limited offering of preferred stock shares for Butte residents. Fifty shares of 100 each may be purchased at $6.00 per share with deferred payment. First payment due, then $2.50 per month, and $1.50 per quarter thereafter. Frank M. Kerr is president and general manager.
A second Dollar steamship under construction will be named for President Coolidge. The vessel will be launched about February at the Newport News shipbuilding yards in Virginia. The first four ships to join the Nar fleet include the President Slooves and Tec 1.

In Chicago a guard was killed and another wounded when three youths attempted to seize ten thousand six hundred from a cashier at a large shop. Police believe the robbers fled into the surrounding area and hid somewhere nearby. The slain guard was Maxel Axel Fed, 24, with depositions and holdings linking to broader local conflicts. The robbers fled empty handed as investigators pursue leads.
New York January 24 AP report says Jack Dempsey will fight again this summer if a backer puts a half million on the line. Billy Dulye says the ex champ is ready and eager for one, perhaps two, fights.
Madrid Jan 24 The government tonight decided to raise the state of siege which has existed amid recent revolutionary outbreaks in all of Spain except Madrid and Zaragoza. The move follows ongoing unrest and aims to restore order nationwide with Madrid and Zaragoza remaining under special handling.
Jefferson City Missouri officials and guards at the state penitentiary quelled a disorder in the cell building about 6:20 p.m. during robertors military rally time. Four convicts allegedly led the plot overpowered guards and fired pistols from tower walls. guards recovered control and reports said only four convicts remained principal actors.
Five people are reported dead and more than twenty injured when the Suwanee Special derailed in a mountain pass near Herve. Victims named include Larry Lindle, 30, engineer, Somerset, Ky. The Mayflower, famed presidential yacht of five presidents, sank in 24 feet of water at her Philadelphia navy yard pier after a fire reached the water line. Flames raged an hour before the vessel settled to the bottom of the Delaware. explosion followed as fire blazed. Continuous coverage notes the blaze began near 10 o clock and the cause remains undetermined.
