Mrs. Julia Kilen American missionary and worker was held captive two weeks by bandits in Honan China. Negotiations led by Wa Pei Thi commander secured her release. Major Magruder reported from Wu headquarters Loyang. Kilen described near death threats and forced march before rescue.

Bert Jagklin Returns Home After California Mission
Bert Jagklin, once of Tite f and Elliston, plans to return to San Diego this week after escorting his wife’s body from California to Elliston where her funeral was held Friday. Rev. A W Wennerberg of the Adventist church preached. Mrs Jacklin died in San Diego January 13 of a heart condition at 29, leaving a four year old son. The couple had recently fought a court case near San Diego and lived with neighbors while building a bungalow on their own land. Mr Jagklin thanks Helena and Elliston friends for support to him and his family and to the Jacklin parents Mr and Mrs S J Lathan of Elliston.
