Winifred Hudnut also known as Natacha Rambova was granted a divorce from Rudolph Valentino the motion picture actor on abandonment grounds. The wife retained her American citizenship and had taken the name Winifred Hudnut after adoption by Richard Tudnut of New York.
Washington January 19. The Senate committee heard Nugatory Nugent reveal that four months passed between the FTC offering DOJ evidence against the Aluminum Company of America in which Secretary Mellon is interested and the DOJ assigning an investigator to study it. The disclosure came as the committee probes whether the justice department moved with diligence.
Senator Gooding of Idaho told the senate interstate commerce committee that state policy favors protecting long haul railroads against competition from shorter hauls and water routes. He said inter-mountain territory holds vast resources and urged action to prevent price discrimination by railroads.

Five people killed when a New York Central passenger train struck a small coupe at a grade crossing five miles west of Toledo. The dead include Joseph Morse 28 Lillia Morse 21 his wife Joseph Morse 8 months old their son Mrs Catherine Dressler 38 and Laura Dressler 23. The coupe was struck squarely by the locomotive and crowding likely kept Morse from seeing the approach.

The action centers on alleged libelous attacks on Jews and whether a class member can sue for such statements without personal reference or special damage.
The hospital locating committee of the War Mothers Memorial association announced Albuquerque New Mexico as the site for a 3 million hospital and tuberculosis farm colony. The committee will report to the executive committee tomorrow afternoon.

Colonel William Mitchell, under court martial, attended and was asked to testify. he said he remained on duty in Washington and would appear if permitted.
